BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO CRU DOCG - VIGNA VECCHIA 2013

LE RAGNAIE

Description

The origins of this precious wine are in Montalcino: its selected Sangiovese vine comes from the oldest vineyard, the Vigna Vecchia located at the foot of the winery, facing the south-west slope to Passo del Lume Spento at an altitude of 500 -600 meters above sea level, in one of the highest points of Montalcino. From biodynamically-grown grapes.

Aromas of cherry, mushroom and some forest floor characterize this amazing Brunello. It has a Full body with firm and silky tannins. Beautiful lemon rind. Tangy acidity.

You can store for 20 years.

The Vineyard
Le Ragnaie winery extends over 28 hectres in the county of Montalcino which is located in the Province of Siena. Our land is coltivated with vines and olive groves and we follow the guidelines for Organic Agriculture. Run by the passion and theenthusiasm of the young Riccardo Campinoti, born in Colle Val d'Elsa and at the head of the company since 2002. The production scenario is the one of Passo del Lume Spento, which is the highest point of the whole area of Montalcino, about 600 meters above sea level: the high altitude of the old vineyards owned by Le Ragnaie brings the necessity to have late harvest compaired to the general rule of Montalcino, in the second half of October, resulting in wines with a fine flavor profile which recall the Nordic winemaking.
